What are dislocation cones made of?
« on: April 25, 2008, 00:15:16 »
http://www.paddockspares.com/pp/OFF_ROAD/HD_Suspension_Parts/Rear_Disclocation_Cones_(pair)._To_fit_Disco_1,_Range_Rover_Classic_and_Defender_90.html

are  they normal steel, ally or what?
Looking into adapting these to fit a hilux. But i need to weld them to the chasis.
Will they weld ok? Or do i need to make a plate to bolt them to?

Cheers

pete the best is make some plates welded onto the lux chassis then bolt them on,

they are possibly weldable and you could probably make your own dislocation cones

Those ones are zinc plated steel. I've just bought some of their front ones, but modified them because I didn't like them too much!

I would agree with that.  Ally would be too soft and too expensive  ;)
I would say those are laser cut and welded together then plated then bolted together when fitted
 ;)
