Glow plug
« on: April 29, 2008, 17:17:08 »
Does the glow plug light on the dash come on every time you turn the key to stage II on the ignition.

It wouldnt start this morning and to be honest sounded more like the starter motor turning than the engine turning over. after trying several times with a longer delay between trying the glow light came on and it started straight away - my wife's words as i was at work.

I tried just now and noticed the glow light came on first time but doesnt come on again unless i leave a long delay in between tries.

Thanks

I think (but will happily be told otherwise) that the Td5 does not need to be pre-heated (ie use the glow plugs) unless you're in sub-zero weather.............both my Td5's start on the button, except in very cold weather when I do let the orange glow light go out before giving them a crank.

Is your battery ok ?
