I have often wondered if traffic jams on motorways are not engineered by the government
I use it because the fuel I save driving at the speed limit outweighs the fuel I use sat at 5mph going the other way! Therefore it's cheaper.
Has anyone *ever* driven past the RAC centre on the M6 at the speedlimit in daylight???????????????
erm...sort of yes, I was actually doing about 115mph.

In a fast response vehicle I trust

...often practising box overtakes at 90-100mph with the Police in similarly equipped vehicles, how else do you improve your driving skills? Video games?
If no-one used it would cost *more* - there was a bill for it and someone has to pay.

It minimises wear, tear & maintenance costsis saferallows more realistic situations to be createdallows students to learn through cause and effectallows students to try the same scenario using different techniques more than onceAllows for consistent testing of multiple studentsCourse... it doesn't remove the need for real vehicle experience completely... but it does make the real vehicle time much more effective.Skibum
The ones that annoy me are rigidly enforced 50mph limits around roadworks, where there isn't anyone working! Fair enough while people are on site but leaving the speed limit (and inevitable cameras) on to protect a bunch of traffic cones is ridiculous.
