running lumpy
« on: May 12, 2008, 12:49:38 »
Got a 300tdi disco 1, went out yesterday, got about 200 yards down road and it lost power.

Didnt cut out but when I try to pull away it struggles to run.

Limped home in it and started to look for problem.

Have found that the injector pump is ticking loudly now but when I slacken the feed nut off the filter housing the ticking stops.

If I had any hair I would have pulled it out.

Anybody got any ideas what it might be?

 Cheers in advance.

Your pulley wheel on your inector pump hasn't slipped has it?
I rebuit my cylinder head, had my turbo rebuilt all to find that the injector timing was out! doh.
I read that one of the diaphragms in the injector pump can also fail.
check this as well.
