a disco is born
« on: June 02, 2008, 22:22:36 »
well nearly.

After the death of mine on the M1 a few weeks back I have had a stroke of luck.

A mate of mine was at a trials day and someone he knew has a 300tdi engine out of a S reg ex police support disco with all the bolt on bits I need eg alternator etc for £450. My mate is even going to borrow a trailer and bring the engine to me and a engine hoist and spend a weekend with his landy loving partner too to help.

Al this for £450. Bargain I think and must be a reliable engine. Veg oil kit is going and along with my 200litre surplus of oil I have! Not risking another engine going pop.

Do you think using veg oil contributed to the death of your engine or am I badly reading between the lines of your OP???

Cheers,

David

I'm not 100% sure it has effected it but I think it may have been a contributing factor. there was certainly veg oil all over my engine in with the water when the rad header tank cap let out the high pressure water.
