Thanks, was thinking of trying to prep as much as poss, £500 was about what i had in mind, still trying to decide whether to paint it a standard landy colour or something a bit different.

I just asked at my local spray place - I know 'em quite well - and got HUGE quotes! I want my 90 respraying in metallic silver (zermatt). Said to do the lot including prep £1400. If I do most prep £900 and if I prep and buy paint it'll be £500 for a 'splash n dash' They reckoned the etch and plastic primer, colour, hardener, lacquer and such would set me back abour £400!
Now I see why so many paint their truck with dulux and a roller!

Man, thats a lot of penny's. However you do get what you pay for. not sure whether i should have the interior repainted as well or not now?

You'll get a cheaper price if you do the prep work yourself, when we resprayed the Disco it took about four weekends stripping and flatting the panels

Good paint jobs aren't cheap, if your after mat paint a roller and brush will save you a bucket load of cash.

will let you know how i get on , been given the number of a local spray shop. was gonna have something a bit different but the base colour of the landy is green so it will be a lot easier to resprey this colour, just didnt want it to look too boring!! ( not meaning to offend all those green landy owners out there!)

just done mine. prepped it all. baught the paint £140 (mixed to what i wanted)
cost me probably around £160 in total.
remember to budget in masking tape.
then got a mate round to waft over the truck one evening.
so it was cheap for me i had the compressor.
if i was you do it yourself. its not difficult.
Rob ;)

They vary like mad. I looked into it myself as well. You can buy one that will do the job for less than £20
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Pro-600ml-HVLP-Air-Gravity-Feed-PAINT-SPRAY-GUN_W0QQitemZ140244554677QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item140244554677&_trkparms=72%3A636%7C39%3A1%7C65%3A12&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
but I dont know hoe good they are. I have brushed / rollered a few land rovers over the years. I dont think a [!Expletive Deleted!] spray job would be worse and the roller doesnt do a bad job.
My problem was finding somewhere to do it. THere is a suitable compressor at work but overspray everywhere wouldnt be good.
I rollered this one after sanding with a belt sander. Probably about 6 hours total. It wasnt perfect but I was pleased with it!
