How easy is this and does anyone have a step by step guide?

I found a link (not the one I was looking for) LOTS OF LANDROVER MANUALS IN PDF diddnt have time to check it had what you need by the Series workshop manuals look promising.

How easy is this
Can be done within a weekend no problem.  Make sure you have a good set of Imperial (AF I think the head bolts are) sockets, extension bar(s) and ratchet.   You also will need a torque wrench.

LOL cheers for that mate, but driving to the complete opposite end of the country is just not viable right now lol.

I have a mate of mine doing it tomorrow, he has his own garage and used to be a land rover main dealer mechanic.

Plus he is also only charging me £50 for doing it lmao

He should have no probs then
Just remember its a cast iron head, so not very light

I was being idle whe I was refitting it being on my own I used an engine lift to line it up, stops dropping two round spherical anatomy parts when aligning head and not letting the gasket wander out of line ;)

No, it didnt need doing.  It had just boiled over and runs fine now.

Just need a new rad cos all the veins were nackered which was why it boiled over.

Its a really easy job i htinki did it in about 3 hours with driving to source the gaskets, shouldnt be too much of an issue mate tho the ehads do weigh [!Expletive Deleted!] loads

I did mine in a weekend, but it was years ago and the first 'proper' job I did on a landy, very satisfying!
