Classic 3.5 EFi idle

Just got a 1989 V8 3.5EFi for off road playing. :grin:
Car is idle however when it is war it will tick over for about 30 seconds before it starts to go " hump, hump, hump" while it struggles to tick over.
then stalls.
As mainly diesel & carb knowledge struggling a bit on this one,  :huh: anyone help
Rough & ready 2001 Disco 2
4" lift with 235/85/16 Insa turbo
Steel rear bumper, rock sliders. Winch bumper with winch & A bar & lights, Safari snorkel
Steering, front & rear diff guards
Genuine G4 roof rack with warn lights

In the end the only bits that stayed the same on mine (had similar problems) was the wiring loom and the airflow meter, though to be fair it had more than just the one problem. This may be of some help

It might be the distributor cap/rotor arm/HT leads.  Check that these are genuine Lucas ones.  If not throw then away and get genuine ones, the Rover V8 hates anything else and won't work properly
