TD5 Defender wiper self park switch
« on: July 15, 2008, 21:14:51 »
I was playing in the puddles last week, and now the wipers won't switch off properly. I read in a previous thread that this is caused by the wiper self park switch. Where is the switch located, and is it easy to change?

Thanks

Tom

The switch is on the back of the wiper motor, which is behind the left hand side of the dash..........supposedly easy to get at, I'm just not sure how though !

That quite right. The white plastic block that the harness plugs into. It is removed by gently prising one end up to release a little locating pin. Then slide it in the direction of the pin and it will come out. Note which way the wires connect before removing them!

Part number 520160A if that is of help.
