Cleaning Spotlights
« on: July 28, 2008, 12:13:46 »
Hiya

My 90 has two Hella Rallye 4000 spot lights on the front.

They got water inside them, and now they are dirty on the inside of the glass.

I got the mist out by putting them in the airing cupboard for the weekend.

Does anyone know if the these can be dismantled?

The performance of them is seriously effected by the dirt on the inside.

When I have needed to wash out my spotlights I have immersed them in a sink of warm soapy water, let them fill up and used a small bottle-brush, through the lamp (bulb) hole, where necessary. I then make sure that they are rinsed thoroughly and put them somewhere warm to dry out before refitting.
Gas Main works are like ants... You never see them in the winter, but once the summer arrives they appear everywhere.
