un well disco

just drove back from bulgaria now the disco is blowing out its coolant so looks like i need a new head as i did a gasket b4 we left its ok till its reved above 2500rpm so do you think its the head?
so had to drive from hungary at 55mph wot a long journey
 :(

Same thing happened to me on the way home from France.............now awaiting delivery of new head!! :roll:

You're lucky you made it home. I finished my journey on the back of a breakdown truck.  :(

Did you get the head pressure tested and skimmed before re-assembly?

If so and they did not find anything wrong with it then you had best do a leak down test and see if that gives you any clues as to what is going on with it.

Were all the head bolts taken down to the right torque and in the right sequence?

 
1996 Discovery 300TDi Affectionately known as Clover.

Fine English engineering modified to work!

(didnt have the faclity to do this in bulgaria but did check the head was flat )

(the head was torqued and deg tighten in sequance)
 (also has always used a little water in the two years i have had it
going to check the stat and the water pump b4 i get a new head
but does look like its the head causing the prob cos the hoses are rock solid even at tickover
i am surprised the rad hasn't burst with the pressure)
