my disco needs help

hi people i got a disco 200tdi auto 1994. it sweems to of lost some power so i was gona look into the turbo, but driving it today it felt like it was holding back quite abit and stank like you driven through a muck spreading tractor, i no i hadnt driven past a dodge field coz it happened about 6 times in the country and in the town, so any advice would me helpfull, thanks

i reacon it sounds like your clutch is knackered, have had this myself, get a horrid smell and loss or power, clutch slipping and burning

If its an auto then it doesn't have a clutch....

next suggestion  :-k

check that you have sufficiant ATF oil in the box, and also, check underneath and undo the bung in the bottom of the bell housing if you get oil (ATF - Red) out of there then it may be a faulty torque converter or oil seal, if none of these are at fault, you may have a vaccum hose split
