After its standing since Monday, we went out in the 110 earlier this evening.
Upon arrival & reversing into the parking bay, I noticed a 'drip-trail' that appeared to mirror my manoeuvre.
Not wishing to take a chance I had a look underneath, & the rear-axle, trailing arms were dripping.
The fuel filter was leaking:(
Upon return home, and after removing the cover, I found a pin-hole leak in the side of it (and
very
rusty too!!)

So, here's a couple questions
1.
How much will I possibly lose overnight, will it just drain the filter, or the tank too? (it's parked facing slightly downhill, a 1-in-35 at a guess)
2.
Hoping I can get a filter tomorrow, do I have to;
Prime with fuel?
Purge the system of air
Fill the new filter upon fitting?
Or is it self-priming/purging??

Not sure about the first question. My thought is that it would only drain the filter, but I'm sure somebody will offer up additional info later.
As for replacing the filter, when I did mine, I filled the new one with clean diesel before screwing it back on. After that I simply turned the ignition (lights on dash on) so that the fuel pump started, let it pump for 30 seconds and then turned off. Back on and off three times then fired her up with no worries. I don't think that this follows the 'approved' LR route, but it works.

Anyway, I got one earlier :clap:
I had to nip into Wakefield this morning, so I made a call at
'Simon Services'
, as he's only a mile away from me, and used to sometimes open on a Sunday.
Thankfully he was, & sold me one a new filter fore princely sum of £9.20
Whilst in Wakefield, I visited Harratts (Volvo main-dealer), there was a nice V50 T5 on the forecourt, as one may be
'on the cards' soon
(also a couple of rather tasty V70's)
Once I was home and changed into my 'scrags', it just screwed on, Simon had advised me to let the pump run with the key in the 'ignition' position for 10 seconds (or so) in about 5 cycles & start it.
It started fine & just ran as normal, with no audible suggestion that it had drawn any air into the system
There was a slight whine from the in-tank pump (from running dry??), but that died away after a couple of miles on a test-drive in order to check for leaks & jet-wash the underside.
I meant to fill it back up to see how much I'd lost, as I only brimmed it on Monday afternoon & had done just 14miles before I noticed the bl**dy leak
The overnight seepage did spread a bit though. Oops :oops: :oops:
I'll hazard a guess that it won't come off now, as it's had all night to soak in. I had a sand-filled bucket under it, but as the pressure changed overnight, it changed its route to ground & missed the bucket :doh:
