Reverse light switch
« on: September 20, 2008, 21:54:07 »
Hi since buying my L plate 200tdi it has had no reverse lights, decided to investigate today found the one spade had snapped off the switch.
Simple I thought, so bought new switch swapped them over now I get confused!!!!

If the switch is screwed in fully I can not get reverse, so I slackened it off until I can reverse but the lights just stay on, any ideas on how I can get them working correctly?????

What i think you need to do, is put the vehicle in reverse, then adjust the switch so the lights are
just' on..... then try putting it in nueral and making sure the lights go out.....
gone from 200tdi.... to 300tdi... still with loads done to it, in fact, even more than the last truck...LOL!!!

Basically, what he said...  IIRC put vehicle in reverse, screw the switch in finger-tight until it clicks on, then do up the lock nut, check it works as expected, tighten it and you're done.
