Whats my jimny worth?
« on: October 14, 2008, 16:09:35 »
Hi

I posted this here yesterday. But it was removed to the "for sale" section.
So I changed the header. to "Whats it worth"  and reposted it here.
As all I'm looking for at the moment is advice.

I'm thinking of selling my modified jimny
Just wondering what guys think it may be worth.

2002 Jimny 02
25,000miles

2" Procomp suspention lift
with castor correction
2" body lift
30" Colways
Steering damper
Spal electric fan
Snorkle
Water/oil/volt gauges.
plus loads of other its and pieces fitted .

I would like to think I could get about £3,000
What do you recon?

note: lighting bar now sold. Picture taken before snorkle fitted

i too have one for sale and looking at the prices they are fetching ok the softtops tend to be slightly cheepper  but modded ones are not fetching much more than standard ones(supose you have halfed the amount of customers by modding it)
mine is a 2001 hard top with 12 months mot and is only up for £1500 so i guess if someone thinks that all the modds on it is worth an extra £1500 then it will sell no probs
WHAT UR ASKED WHEN YOU OWN A MOG
"What the f**ks that"
"where do you take it"
"Why has it got a merc star on it"

When i sold my modified jimny i actuall got £1000 less than the price standard ones were going for, always best to keep all the standard bits you swap  for modified. I sold my 54 reg O2 soft top when it was just less than 2 years old for £4300, standard ones were making £5500 at the time. I had a rocklobster conversion, ARB bumper and winch, pukka snorkel, castor corrected radius arms , modular rims the lot.
In my opinion get some standard bits and sell the modified ones on, or do a deal wih a newbie on here for theyre std bits.

The problem you have is
Some one once explained this to me and how true it is.
Land Rover owners tell you how much they have spend.
Suzuki owners tell you how to make it for free or very cheaply.
I cant afford to buy or run a Land rover but the suzuki is a cheap just as good, some say better alternative, but we tend to buy the cheaper end after all a £300 SJ or Vitara would do the job a £5000 Jiminy would?
Try it on Ebay, what people often forget is its far cheaper to buy a ready modded motor but some people thats half the fun
Remember it will come in handy even if you never use it
