what ever you do DONT buy britpart-presoilte there absolute garbage mine last 13 months and have searched online to see if it was a one off and people have reported getting a few days out of new ones. Personaly i buy used genuine ones got 2 last week for 16 and 20 pound delivered, as i use it off road i cant justify 100+ for a good bosch one, also i carry a used spare as you cant push start an auto. BTW Bosch seem to be the best.

Cheers Andrew

Theres a lad with his head screwed on  ;) agree completely, There are plenty 300's breaking now so a good s/h one should be easy and cheap enough to source.
If you do buy new pay the extra, britpart are generally rubbish for all their spares, poor fit, poor quality, poor performance etc.

I had a non genuine one shatter in my rangie, I was very lucky that i fished the bits of broken metal out of the bottom of the bell housing, otherwise it could have been a gearbox out job.

Good point about the spare starter motor - mines a v8 auto so may try and locate a second hand one at some point!
