Workshop 110 project

Few months back my dad rang me asking if i wanted a landrover, (stupid question) as a mate of hes wanted rid of it, went to have a look with my trailer on the P38 just in case it was a bargain, and it was, a deal was struck and i had a 110 csw 2.5td, no test or tax, also a non runner, crank pulley has fallen off, has issues on the M6 toll on our return, the P38 decided it was a good time to dump its air from the suspension, great ride with a trailer and a 110 on it!!! no laptop with me so reset was out of the question, after a slow drive we got back to the workshop,
On first inspection it was a very tidy 110 with 234.000 on the clock, got the 2.5td running ,normal smoke but ran ok, few bulbs and a small repair on the outrigger, bingo 12months mot,Taxed it up , fired on a snorkle and went out laining, 15 mins in to our trip bang cambelts breaks, oh well, DR fence dragged it back to the workshop,
As i had a fresh 300TDI in stock, shame not to put it to good use, this was decided on thursday afternoon about 2.30, and i set a goal, lets get it done for friday nights chippy run, so out came the engine and box, seat box, in went a fresh R380 and 300 tdi, reworked the td loom to fit, new exhaust system, moved the engine mounts, the electric fan was being fitted just after 5 on the friday night, thanks chris w, sounded sweet as a nut and drove great, tweck on the pump job done,
Changed a few more parts in the following weeks, series sides where added, 2" lift with tough back shockers, poly bush kit, steering guard, light guards and A bar from mr boddle thanks dude, diff guards, cb, beacons from an AA van, twin batterys, and a new set of 33/12.5/15 muds, all thats needed is a silver paint job the match Bessie and the logo on the rear panels, bargain landys are still out there guys,

looks good but how much ?
How's this for a bargain then, R plate 300 tdi 90, hardtop but with windows, 120k on clock, main stealer has offered...............................................£1000.00 on a trade against a late TD5 County SW.
Unfortunately I do not have the cash so it's gone

A disco R380 can be used in a defender, but you do have the change the selector fork in the box due to having a different gear housing on a defender, the engine and box in the 110 was from a disco, drives well with the disco transferbox,

There are a few items inside the box that need to be changed for defender items, as the gear orientation is backwards to disco when using a defender selector top, this does mean a strip down, list below
FTC 5120 Fork
FTC4588 Shaft
FTC 2885 Interlock
FRC 8127 Pin
Few pics to show what im babbling on about
This is what you will find under the selector housing of a disco R380 gearbox, note the bearing shape
This is the selecter housing from the same Disco R380 box, note how the shaft connects with the bearing
This is a selecter from an R380 Defender gearbox, totally different in the disco design, using two rollers side by side,
This is how far you need to stripp your gearbox inable to remove the shaft marked
Hope this helps
