Speedo Problems
« on: October 31, 2008, 23:30:23 »
Hi there,

I've just bought another Disco (1997 5dr 300 Tdi) and I've managed to fix most of the faults it had...  Rear windows, ABS, Cruise etc

The one remaining fault is with the Speedo.  It reads completley wrongly.

If I am travelling at 30mph by my GPS the speedo reads about 60 km/h, at 50mph it reads 100 km/h.  Also the Odometer and Trip read 2 units for every mile.

Is there an easy fix for this?  I've not had the clocks out yet, are they mechanically driven?

Cheers,

Ian

What size tyres does it have on it?
If they're not the standard dia then this will effect the speedo readings.

Hi Budgie,

The tyres are pretty standard, I've ruled that one out :(
