NFU are good, Adrian Flux are good for modified vehicles, Id have thought less than £500, Im 26 with a Td5 with mods, only 2 years no claims and its only £420 with Norwich Union.  My sister is a manger for AA insurance and she says they add 10% per item for modifications, but they are different to accessories, like roof racks and towbars. Those are usually free to add to your policy.

I'm with adrian flux and 26yr old and have 2-3 years ncb on the disco but full ncb on my other car so they give me full ncb on my premuim.

They dont charge any extra for any mods as long as it isnt to do with power upgrades, so lift kits, snorkels etc etc etc are all free. You still have to declare them all though.

I pay £350 3rd party fire n theft (cant see the point in fully comp for a £2k disco that I wont get 2k for in a claim)

I was on a limited mileage policy but to up grade to unlimited it was £3. yes £3  no brainer really!!

they have come in the cheapest for 3 years running now and if you haggle with them they will come down in price or throw in extra things like protected ncb for example. Also I am covered for off roading and treasure hunts.

Try snowball..(you'll find them in the mags)

as long as you tell them all the mods the price is the same as a standard car.....

I've been with them for three years and had to claim once (lady ran into the back of me ) all sorted very quickly really..

The mark of a good insurance company is'nt how cheap they are, it's how they deal with a claim..

ps. they are cheap too

when i phoned the pru (current car insurer) i was told i couldnt have a 2nd vehicle added to my policy. If i wanted another car it would be a new policy and no no claims!

that is what I do for both my cars. Doing them together is £100 cheaper but it means you end up with car insurance for both cars running out on the same day for ever more. I prefer to have the cars insurance split by 6 months to give me time to save up again!

blimey. so how comes we both have the same car and same age and same full ncb but yet I am paying more for 3rd pft?? I have had no claims ever either.

Only difference is you can do 5000m but I only had to pay an extra £3 for unlimited.

How annoying.

mine costs about £170 i think from adrian flux but no mods and fully comp they were quite good at renewal cos they were way above that price like over £100 more but said if you can find a better quote they,ll beat it so we did only thing you have to watch is they,ll renew without telling you if you dont contact them

They would still not get my business!! Sureterm tried that with me years ago, exact same scenario. When they phoned me back with the much cheaper quote I told them to [!Expletive Deleted!] off! They asked why? I said don't try to rip me off with mahoosive increases then change your mind! Give me your best quote 1st time or you don't get my business!!

Sureterm refused to even send me a claim form when my Rangie caught fire and burnt out on the motorway, I was fully comp - they said they didn't cover mechanical or electrical faults! Barring petrol bombs, what else causes vehicle fires?

I called the ombudsman, then their underwriter, NIG Skandia, I had a pay out of the full paid value and contents within 10 days. I wouldn't use sureterm again, even if they were giving free disco's away with every policy.

The cheeky gits then took £600 out of my account 8 months later - the car was written off [Edited]. When I complained they then made prank calls to me for the rest of the week.
Bunch of unprofessional d**kheads IMHO.

Stu.
