What a day
« on: November 29, 2008, 17:01:59 »
Well. Iafter waking up at about 10:30 ish I got up, and decided that I would sort my bedroom out as it is a mess from when I got my new pooter last week.

the plan was to just put the big monitor over on my hi fi so I could watch programs / dvd's in bed easier. So I opened up the vga extension cables I bought off ebay. Ebay said they were 1.8m invoice says 1.5m and reality is 1.3m.  ::) So a snot o gram got sent to the sender!

I then wired in the monitor and found that vista is better on a big screen as everything is squeezed in on a 15" one.  ::) So then the challeneg of un wiring the old monitor from behind the desk and wiring in the new one.  This has taken me all afternoon and a few select swear words have been said.

So today I have achieved, swapping over 2 monitors, tidy my desk, washed bed sheets and made a sausage and bean toasted sarnie.  ::)

Not much really. But having 2 monitors working at either side of the room looks quite cool though. I just used a vga splitter from same person on ebay.

Oh and the cables I bought were all male-female (which is what I wanted) except every plug has a srew thing in so you cant actually lock them together with the screws.  ::)

More productive than mine:

Went to fitness training for the first time in... too long. Cold, wet and muddy - but I do feel better for it.  :ner:

Did the shopping, then walked in to town to post a parcel, got back... that's about it.  :undecided:

Drove the Land Rover (to keep it vaguely on topic) to and from...  8-[

Got stuff to do outside: wash two muddy bikes, rake up leaves etc. but it's too cold  :pacman:

I got up, walked into town to buy a tax disk for 'Flower', and dropped into Waterstones.

I came out with 5 of the TPBs for Warren Ellis's 'Transmetropoliton', and a soft-back of Alan Moore's 'V for Vendetta'

I walked home.

I then had much joy watching the awesome Dragons turn over the Wallabies - what a match!

I then had breakfast!

Busy day!  ;)

Went to work, carted hay for swmbo's horses then back to work, then went laning, brilliant. Trouble is my lad has been fitting a new water pump to the car and messed up the timing so now we've got to strip it to see how many valves to replace

As much as I would love to do little "easy" job on your freebie I am off to amates to taste petrol. No seriously! He is getting his rover 214 scrapped soon and he reckons there is 25litres of petrol in his tank that I can have for a tenner. Now his petrol light wasnt on the last time he drove it so my guess is there is more than 25 litres.  The only way I can think of getting it out though is to siphon it. Oh I can't wait.  :^o

What needs doing anyway?

Oh and the illusive chip man never turned up so I had the final 2 sausages out of the pack of 8 I opened yesterday with more home made chips, baked beans and veg and LOADS of vinegar.

I got on a bus and went to Winchester -  not been on a bus for years! (mainly due to that fact I seem to live in public transport blackholes!)

Nice place Winchester, especiallys the pub with rugby on the big screen!

Woke up at silly o-clock to find lots of white stuff outside...... SWMBO headed off to work..... went for a paper and slide in the 110...... gritted the road at the end of the drive as council just dumps piles of grit at the side of the road and its a DIY gritting.... cut up some firewood..... did the dishes..... now trying to resist the dangers of daytime tele.....

What needs doing anyway?

A re-wire of the towing electrics (again!). This time with a metal socket which should be more robust than the plastic ones.

The challenge is that the colour of the actual wires differs from the wiring diagram...
