Lochness Laning

anybody got any advice on what we can do in this area

we're staying on the south side of Lochness for new year and fancy a little run out

My understanding is there are no rights of way in Scotland so without the land owners permission you may struggle  :sad:

There is one at Aviemore though its just a forestry drive..... Nothing exciting.... can get round in pretty much anything.... The other one isnt far from it, which is the coreyairick pass and runs down to Fortwilliam.... This is not to be attempted in winter as you will more than likely end up having to call the boys out with that big yellow whilrlygig......

the corryairick pass AFAIK is currently blocked at the far end & also chained off at the laggan end.....

Heading up that way tomorow for a wee break but doubt ill be doin any offroading as im in the other 1/2s disco

We asked a local warden when we were in the highlands and he said there are no green lanes in scotland but there are farm tracks but you can't go through gates  :?

we ended up using a map and just following roads until they ran out , we did however find some nice roads over moors to dams and phone masts ,Great views :dance:

If you do a search for "scenic drives in Scotland" and look for the area you are staying in then you will get some lovely drives.

I thoroughly recomend the drive down to Kinlochhourn. We did it a couple of years back and ended up inbetween nearly 100 deer!! saw golden eagles, otters, seals and collected some mussells for dinner.
