hi all, i just picked up another vitara, this one is a g reg rag top, 8v.. lacks in poke and chuffing a bit of blue smoke, i also think the water pumps on its last legs tho,,
im looking to swap it for something else, im not really to certain,, what do u lot think would be good, bare in mind it will be dd..

stick a 3.5 ltr Range Rover engine in it. I know it will go :D :D

thirsty,poor performance , very nice sound :P
bit of a heavy lump for a vitara, these trucks are light, its what makes em good, dont want to blow it out the water with a v8
might go for 1800 diesel from mk3 golf :|

A friend of mine put the later fuel injected 8v lump in his carb'd vit without too much grief. Or its the 1.9 vw or peugeot route, i think some conversion kits are available.

I'm finding the GV 2 litre petrol engine good, it even has 16 valves
not been anywhere near off road yet but on road its got a fair bit of grunt in it and its actually quite economical which is suprisingly nice :P
Chain driven as well ;)
