Anyone else getting Update_Now text messages on their Orange phone?
I've been doing a bit of reading, and apparently this bunch are part of a company called Celltalk PLC, but usually send the texts going under a different name, such as MobileUpd8.
My mobile is registered with TPS, but it seems that these people don't use the TPS database, and it is supposedly rather difficult to stop them sending you stuff according to several reports I've read.
Well, it seems that Orange have a free SMS spam reporting number, 7726. I'm asking you all, you lovely lovely people, please start forwarding their messages to this number, so hopefully Orange will sit up and take notice.

right thats news to me and I work for orange in one of there sole distroying call centres in newcastle (it keeps my SIII on the road JUST)
we know about these muppets and are looking at ways to stop this but what I would say is that if your TPS registered and they still sms you call TPS and report as they are breaking the TPS code of conduct
Also if anyone calls you and says there calling from orange or another mobile company chances are its a dealers NOT the mobile company as they word it "calling on behalf of ...." HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM
We only hear the bad side but when these mookles muck up they do it in right royal style and grab your cash/there commison and run.
if you are offered a good deal over the phone from someone claiming to be from orange for example ask them to note your details and you callback to customer services on the normal number you use not a number they give you this way you know your dealing with your supplier not some doddgy cowboys
best advice go to a reputable dealers on the high street at least then if they muck up your mobile account you can make a big issue of it in a shop and people see/hear whats happening and they want to sort it as an angry customer in a shop is not a good advert
where as companys you deal with from the back of the paper etc are only reachable over the phone if at all and then you genraly get the "I'll look into it and call you back" or the "yeah and?" or the "not my problem mate" responce if any
