There's one going around south wales that is knocking people for six for over a week which is impressive for a cold. My ol'man has had it for 2 weeks without shaking it off because he's a tart. I must have had it before as I seem immune to that one.
Don't I feel stupid now. Went out for a dog walk after posting this, by time I came back I was shivering to the core, not snotty but every joint in pain, especially my back and I felt like i been kicked in the  nutz. Central heating screwed up in house so sat with 4 layers of hoodie and fleeze with the gas fire on full. Pretty much delirious with what felt like an outer body experience . Was shivering and cramping till misses came home at 9pm and dossed me up. First time I been comfortable all day - hope it clears by tomorrow.
It didn't clear and today was the first day I been able to go out and about though still not 100%. Defo not man flu! Turned out to be Norovirus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norovirus) and mostly likely picked up when visiting someone in hospital on the Sunday 3 days before. The hospital has since closed certain wards to visitors as it spread like wildfire. Went to hospital healthy and came away with some horridness, filthy places esp The Royal Gwent

Norovirus can survive on worktops etc for up to 12 days so make sure you keep everything clean. Basically, if you can smell vomit or poo from someone who has norovirus then there is a pretty good chance of contracting it yourself
