P38 Electrical problems ??
« on: December 18, 2008, 21:18:22 »
Hi Guys, first posting since joining, hoping for pointers on the following..

In the blink of an eye all four electric windows and the sunroof decide they don't want to play anymore... On the plus side I now have lots of entertaining messages to read whenever I start it up !!

I've checked the fuses under the seat and all seems well, any ideas??

It might also be worth having a chat to the guys at Remote Key:
http://www.remotekey.co.uk/cars/range-rover/P38/
According to the website they can reprogram/repair the BeCM which would have the advantage of keeping your history.

One thing to watch is that on the P38 both the Speedo clock and the BeCM have the mileage; if it recognised that one unit has been changed it will always default tot he unit with teh highest mileage.

I had the same problem, windows or sunroof not working.it turned out to be the switch panel itself that was defective. I replaced with a new one & all was ok.

Many thanx for your help guys, console switch pack ordered yesterday, arrived today from alan@rangeroverheaven.co.uk  (impressive service, great price and most helpful) , hopefully fitting it monday (at the latest) ...... If it works great , if not I suppose it's BeCM time   Will let you know the outcome, regards, Simon.  [-o<

Replaced switch pack, all works again, sorted, many thanks ... :D :D
