hmm what should i do
« on: December 26, 2008, 13:33:24 »
well i bought a 300 tdi auto disco about a month ago and it was a bargain,  My brother and i were chatting and he said he had a very nice 90 n/a in need of a new cross member welding on (comes with it),for £600  my question is should i hack the rape and pillage the 300 tdi discovery  and use it on the 90 or just sell it and source the parts,

i  would like a 300 tdi auto 90 but it might be easyer to just drop the engine onto the 90 na box

hmm options welcomed :)

Depends on the condition of the Disco, seems a shame to hack it up if it's a good 'un as they aren't that common and TBH I quite like them.

If it's rancid then consider what makes you think the engine/box are any better.

If it's been looked after but with the best will in the world you'll never stop the tinworm then perhaps that's your answer.  If the other part can be sold for a few quid (interiors for some reason are popular) then all the better.  Body panels, I can't give them away.

If it's good, sell it as-is. You should get at least £1k which will buy the 90 and welding along with putting a bit towards the other parts you want.
