Suspension setup..........???

At the moment i have Pro comp shocks, with a scorpion 4" left at the rear and a britpart 2" lift at the front, the spings have seen better days and are beginning to sag, i dont really wana spend more than £400 i assume my pro comp shocks are 11" and maybe i can stick with them.

Please help too many descisions! :-k

i have -2" front turrets that i am happy with but if there is a better alternative i am interested....

ideally i would like more articulation ast the scorpions springs on the rear are far too hard

i have been recommended this...............bearmach 2" lift springs but the offroad jobbies not the heavy duty ones

and this rough country setup???

Only thing I'll add is that on a standard ca\r there is 2" of travle left in the dampers when the axle is on the bump stops, so any more than 2" over standard and you need longer bump stops.

Or alter the damper mounts. Which is most suitable (maby a combination of the 2) will depend on other factors such as springs and wheel arch cleaerance etc.


By the way was the 2" measuered with both bumpstops resting on the axle or with the axle articulated so only one bumpstop is resting on it?
By my reckoning the latter senario should move the damper mounts closer together than the former.

You're right.  With the car resting on both bumpstops I measured just less than 2 1/2" travel left on the damper. and roughly 1/2" left on plus 2" ProComp.

I usually work out shock lengths with no bump stops after all its not uncommon to lose one and is a real [!Expletive Deleted!] if you have to fork out for a new shock as well.

Ohh, that could be an issue as I'm fitting thicker bump stops to protect the shocks :-k

How often are you loosing bumpstops?

I've seens several missing bumpstops that have seporated over a very long time, but not quick failures due to newer ones getting nocked off or just being very shoddy pattern parts etc.

TBH just the ones that have fallen off because they are rusty and I havn't been bothered to replace them yet (my bad I know :roll:), in fact I replaced the missing ones on our TDi and know it's forever bottoming out :-k but that's down to tired old springs I guess.
