Drivers of landrovers built between 2002-2006 look likely to benefit from ved (vehicle excess duty) CLIMBDOWN by  Chancellor Alaster Darling.
As LRO whent to press, newspapers clamed plans to increase VED on so-called :gas guzzlers: have been shelved in the face of a threttned revolt bt backbench Labour MPS. The Daily Telegraph sugested Mr Darling buckled after pressure frm the Primister.  so may be theres an ellection on the cards

Jaguar World had this in as well -  but they went further and confirmed the £400 tax band has been postponed until 2010 at the earliest.  IIRC the highest tax band for 2002-vintage vehicles is £205.  Something like that anyway.
