Broadband deals
«
on:

I need to sign up for broadband and was wondering if anyone knows some good deals around at the mo? If I can avoid bt land line that would be a bonus too!
I need as a minimum.
Phone line: free land line calls any time
Broadband: unlimited down load, 2gb speed (best I can get here) and a way of having 2pc's running off of it.
Anyone suggest anything? I dont want to pay loads of money for super fast broadband etc.

cheers Paul
I have seen this
http://broadband.o2.co.uk/home/index.jsp
on the O2 site from looking at the site you gave. Any thoughts on O2??? I was thinking of the basic package as I am an O2 customer with my mobile phone so would get it at £7 a month and if I go with BT option 3 it would be about £25 a month which seems ok to me.
Any thoughts on O2 or heard any good / bad reviews?

The O
2
deal isn't available in all areas - I can't get it in St Neots for example.
Stick your phone number in to their web site to see if it'll work for you.
Have a look at Sky too - if you're a satellite TV subscriber then you might be able to get a good deal on their broadband:

Ahh, I thought you were already a Sky subscriber... :?
If you have a look at
Money Saving Expert
's guide to broadband you might find a suitably cheap deal.

getting bored now so think I have it narrowed down to 2 options.
both are with BT option 3 for calls. :'( Thats £15 a month
then with tiscali £13/month 2.5mb unlimited
or
O2 £17/month 8 meg unlimited.
I am thinking O2 as I am guessing at somepoint in the future my line must get up graded and also I am not a huge fan of Tiscali as when I was with them then left them they lied to me a few times telling me I can do things I couldnt actually do.
anyone else come up with any other cunning plans?

Stat away from tiscali, you will have problems.
I have been with Entanet (Vivaciti) for 2 years. Its not the cheapest, but it is one of the best. I get 7.8meg all the time and no drop outs. But its £20 per month.

If you have cable in your area Virgin are doing some good deals for new customers.
Im currently on 20meg but 50meg should soon be available in a month or so.
We sometimes have the desk top and two laptops and the lad with his xbox live all churning away and I dont even notice.
