well we had a day of mucking around with the trucks lights today and this is the out come

mine with 300tdi lights

and my dads with td5 lights :cool:

What's involved? I fancy some better lights on mine...   
1996 Discovery 300TDi Affectionately known as Clover. 
Cooper Discover STT 33/12.50/R15, a 2" body lift off chassis. H/D springs with 50mm platform spacers on the rear. Nothing on the front as they foul the shocks :-) 11" travel rough country shocks and mountings with dislocating spring cones,  adjusted wheel arches, safari snorkel. H/D rear bumper, demountable drop plate,. H/D steering guard, QT diff guards.
tree sliders, Split charge running twin Optima's, spotlight bar with 4 whoppers on it, H/D winch bumper, 12,000lbs winch,  A bar with 2 50w mini spotlights, brownchurch full length roof rack. 2 work lights.CB,
Fine English engineering modified to work!

300tdi light are well easy,will take around 2hrs for a real nice job,

or find a broke 300,cut the light box out,then put it in yours,then it would take 1hr at the very most,

td5 lights are a real pain,took 8hrs with 2 of us doing it,alot of cutting and even more re wireing to do

it can be done in a day,its just the wing cutting that takes time,get that wrong and 1 looks crap,2 its good by wing,you have to cut most of the light box out,thats quick,but then make brackets to hold the light,just fingers and thumps the whole time :roll:

you are right jay,its makes no difference cos you have to cut the light box out on what ever you do,only difference is how big the hole is that the light sits in differs on 200,300
