Will it fit???
« on: February 09, 2009, 18:51:28 »
Ok sorry if this has already been asked but i have searched for past postings on this and cant find anything.....
My question is this "will the gearbox from a 200tdi disco fit a 300tdi disco without a lot of work?" also what other things would have to be changed?? if any???

Thanks in advance

i'm told it is possible but not easy also the later 300 boxes (r380) are supposed to be lots stronger.

Yes it will bolt straight on but  you will need to change the speedo because a 200 is mechanically driven via a cable and the 300 is electric as far as i can remember. The handbrake cable will also need changing
You would be better off getting a 300 box if yours is shot.
