a trueley noble cause
« on: February 11, 2009, 21:31:07 »
right, any of you who have PM'd me asking for help and/or advice know i do my best to help out.

i like to help people, i see no reason why i shouldnt if i can. which is why i emaild bruce and sarah riley a month ago, becasue i thought i could help. sarah is 17 and she is building a 4x4 as a design project for college....i know how difficult this is as im not much older but the next part of her task dwarfs anything i have ever attempted which is to drive 20000 miles across europe! 3k of which is offroad!

not so long ago bruces garage burned down, the premices all his parts all his tools, gone. never the less they have decided to go along with the drive. the drive is in aid of a local wildlife charity this on its own is a noble cause (anything for charity is) and also to help bruce get back on his feet but it also shows that not all teenagers are hoodies drive lowerd saxos like knobs and generally cause havok. i would happily support any of those 3 causes by themself!

i dare say that many of you have seen the ADs in the back/front of the landrover mags yet i was the first to contact them! this sort of made me a little sad. there website has been up for a while now and there arnt too many visitors. i called bruce up this evening and he was saying due to the lack of funding that they have got for this build that they have to change there idea from a 1-off defender baised hybrid with a 95" wheel base (i thought that it sounded bloody good!) shift over to a disco with some mods, this also made me a little sad becasue there arnt enough people building vehicles anymore, they just buy something and bolt stuff to it.

im going to stop rambeling now and get straight to it, i am asking evereyone to put aside there 4x4 prejudice and show some support to there cause, even if there only words of encoragement. if anyone has 4x4 parts which they are willing to donate to bruce and sarah they would obviousley be appreciated. i know alot of peoples garages/workshops are alot like mine and have parts in there which your not going to use.....and dont say you are becasue your not! or even if we all donated a quid to them......at the current count that would be £6621 obviousley i cant as you lot for any money but like i say words of encoragement would be enough and everey little helps.

so you can all get the full story please visit www.total4x4xdesign.co.uk and you will see thet these are genuanley nice people who could use all the help they could get.

good night all and thankyou for reading
