My 300tdi has been a complete cow to start in this cold weather....draining the battery nearly every day trying to start it....ended up changing the glowplugs and now she starts at the flick if the key....Only thing is I've read before that the 200tdi really doesn't need glowplugs and should start without them in all weathers..!!!Not much use I know but it might be worth checking them out.Mark
Might be worth checking the compression and timing.
I'm sure its possible to start a 200 without glow plugs, but I don't suppose LR would have designed them in without good reason. They are an expensive consideration if they are not needed. The particularly cold snap could be just the time you need them. Are you running on fresh pump diesel?H
