Glow plugs covered in oil.

Just taken out the glow plugs on my 200tdi and all 4 are covered in oil. I'm no mechanic (obviously) but surely they should be covered with just diesel? What could cause this if it is wrong?

posibly valve guide or valve stem seal or even a leaky head gasket oil way blowing into chamber a little
just get muddy

only thing i can say is i have a 300 about 3 years ago i had the same prob only on cyl no 3 though. never had any other problem or symptom to do with this since . no usage of oil or anything else . alan

also it could be your pisto oil rings being worn
As a youth I could run up and down stairs all day now I'm older it takes me all day just to walk upstairs
