Quadra-Trac II Transfer Shifting
« on: February 24, 2009, 09:35:51 »
At the risk of asking a stupid question, or just being completely naïve, according to the Owner’s Manual, 4LO is engaged as follows:

Quote
Slow the vehicle to 3-5 km/h (2-3 mph), shift the transmission into Neutral (N), then shift the transfer case lever firmly and quickly to Lo without pausing…”

Is it really required to do this whilst moving, or is it just as feasible to do it whilst stationary? Would I damage the transfer case whilst doing this stationary? I now what the manual says, but are Jeep erring on the side of caution?
I reject your reality and substitute my own.

Ya see, that's what I've mostly been doing. I was just curious if I was doing anything wrong.  :undecided:

Looks like I'll carry on like this then.  :D
