North east meet up
« on: March 15, 2005, 21:30:37 »
Hello all this is an open invite
From postings its been sudgested that some one arranges a meet up for north east mud club members (although would welcome any one of course)
If any one has any input they would like to give then feel free
We are looking at may possible to get easter out of the way.
there are a few options

(1)Week ender. Possable at place called Seahouses on northumbrian cost
theres a small camp sight at NU230296 (sorry folks is camping only no caravans) that have used before. Its cheep and clean.
I would want to liase with any one who could give any green lane details for this area and I know of a resonable pay and play sight with in traveling distance

(2)Day meet either pay and play at above sight (its going to be about £20 per vechical for the day) or green lane day. Again would need any one who could offer advice on greenlanes in the area

If anyone can give any advice on greenlanes in area or would like to express an intrest in this can you let me know

Cheers

Mmmm, Seahouses?
Weird little place, we called when we were up caravanning at Berwick-upon-Tweed.
It was market day, it had 3 stalls
Oh, but it has an 'outpost' of 'Barter Books'

Isn't there a couple of lanes around the coast line there??

This is one of them, I think my OS map of Berwick-upon-Tweed is in my 'snug' (in the basement)
Unless, they were on the maps I borrowed

There's also a very good pub called the Ship in the middle of the village.  Seafields caravan site takes tourers, on the web I think & also near the middle of "town"

I think I have walked that path but that was a few years ago when I was a rambler (I wish to appologise now and will say no more about it - wasnt a 4x4's ARE THE CREATION OF SATAN type though)
If we book the camping sight maybe able to get whole field dependant on numbers (would need to be aprox 20)
If we could get on to beach though and drive the sands that would be intresting - probably not going to happen for legal stuff etc but would be nice

Got to agree 101%
Superlative beyond words, the smell of the smoke-house is enough by itself
