Main dealer or aftermarket warranty... ??
« on: March 16, 2009, 22:49:26 »
I'm thinking of turning the P38 in (after 2 years of trouble free motoring) and splashing out on a L322. Question is, do I pay more and buy from a main dealer to get the warranty, or buy privately (much cheaper ) and go for a good aftermarket warranty  :-k..

Has anyone had any good experiences with warranty companies...    Can you recommend one.

Thanks..

Looking at another forum where warranties were discussed at length, there were two contenders Tesco which have the same underwriters as Land Rover Warranty and the AA warranty, I took the AA one out on my D3, not had to use them yet but others have said they are good,  Mark

I did look at Tesco, but they don't cover anything over 3500cc  :(  I'm also looking for 'wear and tear cover' which some of the cheaper policys don't include..

I find it odd that Tesco won't cover over 3.5ltr as they use the same underwriters as land Rover, tesco's must be playing safe in their view

My personal experience of main dealer warnities is not good a few years ago I bought a 1 year old ex deminstrator  with main dealer ship worintery and 2 years left on manifactors the scum tryed to wriggle out of a engin rebuild they tried to blame me for not putting oil in the car after 10 miles (they had just done the service) I got very cross with them  and brought there parentage into question) told them after one month with out my car if it wasnt sorted out with in 24 hours I get the press involved, amazing how quick that got things sorted I can menton them they were called henlies used to be in norwich (main pug dealership put me off french cars for life)
