Y60 vs Y61?
« on: March 17, 2009, 07:55:23 »
Hi Guys,

Got this niggling feeling that won't go away - getting fed up with having landies that keep breaking down and am missing the lovely sound of a straight 6 diesel.  Really fancy a SWB 4.2 Y60 but after scouring the net last night found one - quite a few 2.8td's but have heard they aren't a patch on the 4.2.  It seems there's a few of the 2.8td Y61's for sensible money but am I going to be disappointed if I go for one of these?

Used to have an old 3.2d patrol LWB and a 4.0 landcruiser non turbo (both felt very similar and were bullet proof) - even though both were fairly old they were great even on long motorway trips.

Is there anything to look out for on the Y60s in particular (age is catching up with them now i suppose) and again with the Y61s.

I do need to have a clear out of vehicles first though, the 130's sat needing work, the 110 is in bits and the doner RRC is just sat there
R reg 3.9 Discovery on LPG - pretty standard at mo.
