Just hold on Suvvey, by the time you get your 90 mine might be half back together, if i ever get a tub for it!!!!!
And the reason i changed to the Landie was; bits are available and cheap; yet to be proved now.
I could get everything for the Paj.
My Old blue Paj has just been bought by another mate at work, was tempted to buy that back; and sell the 90 as parts.

The "problem" with LR parts are they are cheap and easy to get, but you need to buy lots of them. I moved to a Landcruiser 80 series 14 months ago. I CV and wheel bearings, thats it other than service parts. I spend about £1000 in paers on the 110 in the same time!! The 110 was running standard size tyres the LC runs 35/12.5/16s and has lockers factory fitted!!

'Tis true. Had the paj for 3 years and did 60K miles. Excluding service items and the mods all it cost me was a radiator top hose (£15), diode pack for alternator (£60) and a pair of CV boots (£23) Jap build quality (priceless ;) )

Actually Pajero's and and other motors that are IMPORTED from Japan later in their life suffer from very little tin worm. Primarily because the Japanese do not salt their roads. This also means that they don't tend to be undersealed so it should be one of the first jobs you do with a new import. It is almost unheard of for a Pajero to have to have work done due to rust yet a mig welder seems to be a must for every Land Rover owner
Can someone please remind me why I am going from Jap to green oval because I'm struggling to remember now

I drive a 90 every day for work, infact it is my old 90 from work that I am buying (at a price well worth waitng for ) But I have to say that there have been a few sticky situations when I know the paj's Limited slip rear diff would of seen me through but the landy failed :-k
Really want a 90 because the paj was also the family car so had to be kept relatively clean and family safe rather than a damp draughty old bucket that is just for me  ;)

Imports from Japan are as Suvvey says rust free, surface stuff thats all.
My wifes Black Paj we have had for nearly 6 yrs. used off road and on, replaced rear silencer box twice (patent part) and 1 rear prop shaft (forgot to grease) passed every MOT with nothing being done. No underseal just cleaned underneath regular.
90 had for nearly 2 years, not been on road yet!!!!
And the 90 is newer, rebuilt the 300tdi engine, started to patch chassis (gave up after 3 days) bought new chassis, stripped last Oct. still rebuilding with renovated original parts and replacing other parts which are past repair.
hopefully
be finished by the end of this year, and has cost a helluvalot.

Imported Land Rovers from Japan are also rather corrosion free funnily enough.
Modern Land Rovers, particularly the utility model, have appauling build quality. I would be surprised to see a new 90 or 110 survive twenty years now let alone make it to forty years of age.
This isn't to say that it hasn't improved for other models in the line up. The Discovery 2 was a big up from the Discovery 1 for instance.
