help - stranded

driving to work, starts making a chattering noise then lights go dim, then starts to loose power then starts clicking then dies. now wont turn on key?

help need to get to work and rac will be over an hour.

seems that the gear stayed meshed to the flywheel which is a bad thing. still i'm home now and have one to fix. must say this is not quite what i thought i signed up for when i bought it but hey ho.

 hi if youve only just got your landie start a welding course now that way you wont have any probs at the next mot trust me it saves a sheed load
As a youth I could run up and down stairs all day now I'm older it takes me all day just to walk upstairs

to be fair i am a bit of a spaner monkey anyway so doing the repairs is no hardship, it's more the frequency of the repairs that is raising an eyebrow. so far since getting it in january it has had rear discs, central locking, all brake pipes, 5 patches of welding, power steering pipes, alternator, starter, front swivels and wheel bearings, cam belt and a leccy fan conversion amongst other things which given we're only just into april seems to be a job for every day. still for a car that only cost 650 quid it's not bad.

nah but you could see a patern starting to form; use it one week fix it the next! bit like n old alfa hatefull when broke but amezin when not!
