cool or not so cool roof
« on: April 02, 2009, 18:42:44 »
hi, i have just got my hands on a 3.5 v8 rrc. it has a rag top which is really cool and i didn't mind full length rrc. but now im thinking i want to cut it up and make it into a tray back but can i swap the roof?

also if i go down the root of full on offroad toy i don't want to have to go round all of the puddles, so was thinking of putting a 200tdi or 300tdi in it. how hard would it be? and would i have to worry about a wiring loom or could i rip it all out and make up my own for lights and starter?

Cheers,
Nick

Dont mean to be rude but just buy a disco and chop it up. It'll be easyer.

I must say i'm inclined to agree.

There can't have been many rag top rangy's built so it seems a shame to cut it about!

You can pick a Disco up for a few hundred quid, job done.

agreed

leave the rag top one as it is and find another one...you'll probably make money on the deal anyway given the rarity of rag top rangies

The roof on a RRC is held to the rest of the body by approximately 52 screws around the rim, plus a few odd screws holding bits like the sun visours and rear view mirror. Some of the screws are a little fiddly but its certainly better than putting any cutting devices near that roof.
