Stuck Tyre Valve
« on: April 12, 2009, 13:24:43 »
Hi All,

I've just checked my tyre pressures and topped them up - however, seems like the valve is stuck open on one of them and air is leaking out! Any quick fixes for this?

Cheers,

Nick

Whip it down to your local tyre place, they should be able to replace the valve core pretty easily, or stick a new valve in it if needed, might cost you a tenner or something though, cash in hand.

Hi nick, spray WD 40 in it and push the valve in and out and then get a small flat blade screw driver and make sure the valve is screwed in nice and tight

Thanks both, Ben I'll try what you suggested next time it happens ;) - I didn't think any tyre places would be open today, but Kwik Fit in Northampton was - nice chap down there relaced the valve, wouldn't take any money, top bloke! :D

Better than my local Kwik Krap. I got them to put a new exhaust on her indoor's Astra on Saturday. Halfway home it fell off because they hadn't bent the tabs over. When I rang up to complain they didn't seem to really care.
