td5 rear drive noise

hi this is my first post for a while as i sold my fantastic defender a few months ago an i hav finally bought a td5 disco on a 2001 i hav had it 3 weeks it is devopling a whooing noise wen ever i went round a right bend in the road so went to garage he thought it was play in prop an rear axle so i hav dropped the axle oil on the rear an replaced it plus i checked all ujs no play but since i hav change the oil in axle it seems it got slighty louder an it making the noise on straight lines but it stop going round left bends in road is my axle broke or could it b wheel bearing i hav done so much searching i dont no wot else to try any advice pls  :(

hi mate thanks for the reply. i was thinking that so i hav had the wheel up an off today but everything is good an solid no movement .1 mechanic has mentioned the diff bearing going from the prop in to the rear axle i hav been underneath it an it does look like oil has been leaking from the over time.but still no more sure if it is or isnt.but i got a long run to angeleys tomor so fingers crossed it holds up wot ever it is

The fact that tne noise alters when cornering points too wheel brg, there does nt have tobe any play , .....spin it and listen for a whistling type noise...

hi mate thanks for gettin bac to me. its does seem to b a whistling noise it making so there doesent need actual play for it to be worn it could of just gone dry or that type of thing
