The old Trucks clocked up 200 000 miles
« on: May 30, 2009, 17:31:34 »
Well as the title said. Goth Thing as just clocked up 200 thousand miles.

It wasnt all trouble free i can tell you. I thought of selling  her a few times when it was on the back of a recovery truck, waving the surrender flag.
But during the 11 years i have owned her, i have grown to love that lump of metal, so hopefully she will go on the clock up another 200K
Not to shabby for a 20 year old. Goverment scrappage scheme my @rse !!!

Not like triggers broom is it.... 11 year you had that, 200miles and it's only had 2 replacement engines, 1 chassis, new seats and nearly every body panel replaced... :P

It was the same with my Transit, clocked up well over 290,000 miles. Had replacement head, rebuilt the bottom end, and pretty much everything on it was new metal where it had been welded so much.

You've still got a way to got to catch up with a man in America with an old volvo which had clocked up 2.6 million miles and still counting. It hadn't had much more than servicing and new piston rings either to get there. Given the ammount of miles I do a year that would probably take a couple of millenia to achive with my RRC. I doubt even ther winch tray would last that long.
