the pulling to the right could be because the pistons are seized in the caliper on the left hand side....then again it could be something else

It could be two different problems. Without a closer look at trhe vehicle it's going to be difficult to diagnose but we can offer some suggestions.

As RichardM sys, pulling one way under braking could be stuck pistons in the brake caliper on the opposite side to the pull (pulling to the right, check the left hand calipers). It could also be tyre pressures, amazing the difference it makes sometimes. There are also various bushes used in the steering and associated fronmt end that could be goosed that are allowing the vehicle to react in certain circumstances.

As for the vibration, sorry mate... there are literally hundreds of reasons. It could be as simple as a missing damper weigth (fitted to the track rods of some vehicles), it could be a worn universal joint on one of the prop shafts or it could be something moer serious within the gearbox/transfer box. It does sound pretty specific if it only happens in 3rd between 25 & 30. How serious is the vibration? Are we talking a little bit of a thrum or are we talking major vibration where it's like being inside a blender?

Let us have a bit miore detail and I'm sure someone will be along shortly with some info.

I had a similar problem with a slight vibration in 4th at about 50mph, this went away when I changed to 5th gear. I didn't think it was a UJ as it went away with changing gears. Anyway, over the cause of a couple of months it started to get slowly worse and I noticed it in any gear between 40 and 50 MPH. Turned out to be one of the front UJ's. Changed it and all was good in the world. I'd definitely check these out first.

Check the play in all the UJ's and the diff pinion bearings. Another thing to check would be the wheel bearings and get the wheels rebalanced, as the loss of just one weight can cause this. Check that a steering rod isn't bent, or a track rod end really worn.

Check the bushes in the rear trailing links and check the rear disks inside edge for oil contamination caused by a leaking oil seal and possibly blocked breather on the axle.  If tyher steering wheel pulls in your hand then check the fornt brakes for the same thing.

not sure about the pulling to one side but I had exactly the same problem with the vibration just a few weeks ago and it turned out to be the uj on the prop shaft
