Has any work been done on the engine recently?
What grade of oil are you using?
When was the oil changed last? Make of filter?
Is the oil at the correct level when cold?

Could be bodged by turning the revs up, could be a dodgy electrical connection on the pressure switch, could be the pressure switch, could be the oil pump or could be big engine rebuild time - I'd start with the pressure switch.

The oil is getting too thin when it's hot.  Unless you have an engine problem, wear or faulty pump then check the oil cooler is working properly, the oil is good quality and of the correct grade.  You can then try some of the Lucas oil stabiliser or use one of their oils with the stabiliser already in it, I cna recomend either product.

Test the oil pressure and see what the psi is if you havnt got an oil pressure gauge, believe me, get one.

If oil pressure very low it will probably be rebuild time.
