P38 Gearbox Fault
« on: July 04, 2009, 23:24:34 »
My dads Rangie 4.0 V8 Auto has developed a Gearbo fault, when going from D to R it flashes up the fault and doesnt select R properly, and then does it again going the opposite way, selecting D it seems like the box wont select a lower gear to pull of in

Is this common or not?? i have a feeling the ECU may be [!Expletive Deleted!]

Any help welcome

Thanks In advance

yup, my new (to me) p38 did the same, I bought a used one from ebay. this solved the issue :)

It could also be a worn selector, easy to get from ebay.
