Right Guys your help is needed.
After a few month of owning my 90 truck cab. Ive eventally started getting round to do something with it.
quick re cap.
90 truck cab.
discovey axles
200 tdi engine with pump and timing tweaked to max,
wheel spacers. and modular steel rims,
Ashcroft hardenshafts (rear. 4 pin diff)
Now Ive finally got round to buying a cage from whitbread off-road. after a long conversation with Malcolm Ive gone for the 48mm blue band full external cage. with 5 roof bars.
Now this has been my problem Tyres and Sizes to go for.
Now Ive got special tracks in mind. anyone have any other views on these ? My main concern is tyre size. What do i go for. and what will fit, my thoughts bigger the better . is this right? this 90 will be many trailered to events etc.
Sorry for all the dumb questions I'm fairly new to the defender and modifying for offroad use.
so any ideas will make me one happy Man !
thanks again Chris.

265/75x16. You can use the modulars and may not need the spacers. Even without the spacers you may get some fouling on full articulation.

Or even 285/75/16, come out at over 34" for special tracks.
Not cheap though over £100 a tyre for retreads

Y special tracks, they drive cr*p on the road and they would suite muddier conditions. there NOT a good allround tyre. what sort of thing are you using your truck for? i.e do you use it daily or just as a toy.

I liked the look of the special tracks to behonest.
my truck is fitted with spacers.
its not a daily drive, yes it will be mot taxed etc but will be trailered everywhere
as for the type i will be driving, not to sure. bit of everything. mud, sand , and hopefully rocks at some point.
im also looking into perhaps trying some of these challenges which go on.. but nothing to big to start with, perhaps just to ease me in to it.

I'm running 265/75r16 special tracks & don't have a problem with them! Use them offroad & onroad, But you will need the spacers to stop the fauling of tyres on the hockey sticks ;)
Like the man said above they also do a 285/85r16 & are bringing out an 305/??/16 later this year, but they are a tad more money than the 265's

285/75/16's will fit. You need 8" wide rims though

on road ... they feel a little more comfortable compared to the old BFG MTs.
