Brake Drum Question
«
on:
August 14, 2009, 12:07:00 »
Hiya im trying to replace the rear brake drums and shoes on my old motor with the help of Minty and co  ive got a set of Lwb 2a Brake drums from Paddocks but the studs are to wide to fit through the shoe.... and they have only one grub screw hole as supposed to the 2 that the current drums have..
So are series 3 Lwb Drum fitted with wider holes?
Problem I have is that its a old Ex Mil swb with a v8 dropped in it and the brakes were uprated from Swb to Lwb
Many thanks

i'm not sure when land rover did it but they definitely use 2 different size wheel studs over the years, it sounds to me like you have an early drum that you're trying to fit on a later axle/hub

on my 2a i have the smaller studs because locking wheel nuts dont fit and there shorter thats a 66' so maybe it changed when the series 3 was brought out?
