Best Jeep to buy...
« on: September 06, 2009, 09:39:00 »
Hi all,

I've been off-roading for some time (in other peoples vehicles!) and have now decided to take the plunge and buy my own vehicle. I'm very keen to buy a Jeep, but am torn as to which model would be best. I'm drawn towards a Wrangler of some kind, but would appreciate it if anyone has an opinion on the subject they are willing to share!

Many thanks,

Rhi

TJ Wrangler 1997-2006 may do

If not an earlier YJ with square headlights?

Thanks for your reply.

I do prefer the TJ - totally on a cosmetic scale.

However, another option of course is a cherokee (grand or otherwise). Just wondered if anyone had an opinion either way as to the advantages/disadvantages of the various models.

 a YJ wrongler Bish, surely not, its got SQUARE headlights !!! what came over you  [-X

gotta be a CJ surely, the last true jeeps

but the if not then just a cherokee, Grand would be very expensive to mod, and so im reliably informed much too stiff, however, best motor i have ever owned so depends how much u wanna do off road and how many miles you put on it in between

and rumour has it that Bish put his standard Grand on the mud this weekend and was pleasantly suprised

Seems to be quite a few Cherokees and Grands around to buy at the moment. It would be a second car, so mileage isn't too much of a problem. Off road wise, it'd probably get at least 2-3 outings a month.

Seems then that all models are pretty damn good, just a matter of personal choice?

Thanks for the info though. Anyone else?
